Collaboration between Lactalis and Flandria

Flandria lettuce with goats cheese

There is a special offer on at the Belgian Creefour in week 28 and 29. A sticker is being placed on various bags of Flandria lettuce that says 'Try Free Président Petits Chèvres 100g'. If customers buy these cheeses they will get 100% cashback from Lactalis. The idea is that both partners add a recipe tip here: lettuce with goats cheese," says Isle Ceulemans of LAVA.

Two brands find each other
Flandria is carrying out this offer for the first time with Lactalis, the group behind Président cheese. "Lactalis does promotional offers like this more often. Last year there was a comparable concept with Jumbo in the Netherlands with freshly cut lettuce. This time they turned to Flandria as a privileged partner to raise the sales of both lettuce and cheese and see what the range is. Our producers of head lettuce, oak leaf, multi colour and lollo lettuce place the sticker on the packaging. The products remain in their sections of the store: the cheese isn't next to the vegetables. This is logistically difficult for a temporary offer and quite expensive to organise."

Extensive range of Flandria lettuces
"The range of lettuce varieties grown for Flandria is very extensive. Besides the head lettuce the varieties of field lettuce, Lollo bionda and Lollo rossa, oak leaf lettuce, curly endive, batavia, iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, rucola and radicchio will soon be available. Due to the strict quality label customers know that the lettuce is guaranteed to be fresh and sustainably grown. Very tasty with some goats cheese," concludes Ilse.
