The packaging of the future at ISIA in Faenza

An important and innovative research and designing activity on single-dose packaging drawn up by student Anna Togni with the cooperation of Euro Company Srl was presented at ISIA in Faenza.

Anna Togni's objective was finding new shapes, applications and formats for packaging based on existing technologies and different targets, specifically in the dried fruit sector. Euro Company is in fact a leading company in this sector selling over 15 thousand tons of products a year for 100 million packets in total.

The study is unique and also has the objective of promoting the beneficial qualities of these fruits. By combining the benefits of dried fruit with single-dose packets, an extraordinary product has been created that is natural supplement within everyone's means.

"We are very proud of having supported Anna. For a company like ours, packaging design is essential. Over the next few months, we plan on financing projects also on other topics, sharing our knowledge and competences," explains Euro Company marketing manager Ivan Tabanelli.



Anna's project is called 7fruit and is made up of 30g mixes of dried fruit, nuts and seeds. The benefit of having single doses is the fact that the product is always fresh. In addition, they help conducting a healthy lifestyle as the quantities are limited. 

There are three formats available. Packs of eight packets are made up of seven packets for every day of the week plus one for sharing. Rectangular packs are made up of seven packets with a cardboard strip to make them easier to open. Last but not least, trays are thought for people who may find it difficult to open packets (e.g. children, older people, etc.). In addition, single-dose trays could be ideal for kindergartens, hospitals, etc.
