ASEAN representatives visited Wanhe Passionfruit Orchard

Between June 22 and 24th, the 10th China-ASEAN Social Development and Poverty Alleviation Forum is held in Guilin city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Government officials, over 150 industrial experts and representatives of international organizations attended the forum with regard to " poverty alleviation and One Belt and Road Initiative".

On 24th, following the lead of the Guangxi government, all the representatives visited the agricultural economy zone that is located in Longsheng county, a place renowned for its dragon's back terrace. During the visit, the representatives are very much attracted to the passion fruit that Guilin Wanhe Agricultural Products Investment Co. Ltd invested in, but are grown by local farmers.

Recently, thanks to the market promotion of passion fruit in Chinese Mainland, consumers' demand for this fruit is continuously growing. Among all the 10 ASEAN countries, only Vietnam has a large area of passion fruit orchards, and passion fruit is not widely planted in other countries.

This passion fruit project initiated in Longsheng county is a poverty alleviation project organized by Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, while Wanhe Agricultural Products Investment Co. Ltd is responsible for passion fruit plantations, orchard management, fruit packaging and sales. By implementing GAP plantation standards, their passion fruit quality is very good, which can help local growers increase their revenue. It is known that the first batch of passion fruit will ripen and start its picking season by the end of July.
