“Our Spanish grape season is starting soon, we expect to start in September. Actually we grow our late season Blanc Seedless variety in Chile, USA, Spain, Australia and recently Peru in order to have availability most of the year. For the coming season from Spain we expect to harvest around 600,000 kilos, this production will be part of the 4.5 million kilos we have in total from all the origins, starts Cristhian Sáez from Polar Fresh Group. Polar Fresh Group began operating in 2002 with a base in Chile. Cristhian explains: “We have been growing and expanding our origins and varieties and now we are located in Chile, USA, Peru and Spain. We grow and export apples, grapes, kiwis, pears and cherries among others.
The Blanc Seedless variety was developed by Anton Caratan and is exclusively marketed by Polar Fresh Group under the Pristine and Sweeta trademark.
According to Cristhian it's a grape variety with unique characteristics. “It's not just another white, we believe it's a whole new alternative. The customers can enjoy a grape with a sweet, crisp and crunchy texture. The taste is a combination of sweet vanilla with a Granny Smith apple finish. As well as the incredible taste and texture, other great advantages are the big size (20mm up) and the amazing long shelf life which is ideal for any retail in the world and for long transit times.”
