"Tomatoes should not be kept in fridge"

"New concept "My Tomato Basket"

Prince de Bretagne is launching their “My Tomato Baskets” (Ma Corbeille de Tomates), a real 1.5kg gourmet basket with a week’s worth of tomatoes. It is packed in a plastic basket, pre-wrapped, to be kept and refilled throughout the season.

The purpose of the basket is to remind consumers that tomatoes should not be kept in the fridge, but in the open air, as the cold can change their taste. My Tomato Basket, which can be reused when wanted, offers tomatoes selected by Prince de Bretagne’s tomato producers: vine tomatoes, colourful tomatoes and even a mix of cherry tomatoes.

Through My Tomato Basket, Prince de Bretagne offers the possibility to discover and try new varieties, and to get to know the story behind each tomato. The basket comes with a leaflet for the consumers which presents the environmentally friendly farming methods used by Prince de Bretagne’s producers, as well as the specifics on each variety and, above all, explains how to store the tomatoes after they have been bought.

The attractive and reusable basket is pre-wrapped and Gencoded, in batches of 4 in 60x40 packages. The recommended retail price : between €9 and €12, according to the company.
