Sous Fresh, inspiring chefs

Professional chefs look to the Dutch company “Sous Fresh” for support in fresh fruit and vegetables. Although the company has been supplying fresh fruit and vegetables to a wide range of businesses for years, two years ago the focus has shifted. Today Sous Fresh supports and inspires chefs in professional kitchens. 



Cafeteria or Michelin star restaurant, fruit and vegetables are popular
The demand for healthy food is steadily increasing, explains Roy Peters, Key Account Manager of Sous Fresh. Not only the customers of classy quality restaurants are health conscious, but also customers who for instance just use the canteen at work. Developments such as vegetarian and vegan food, increase the demand for dishes without meat and thus with more fruit and vegetables. And Roy Peters considers this not a temporary development: “I feel that it is not just a trend. I think that it is here to stay. We all want to pay more attention to our health and we all know that fruit and vegetables are healthier than a large piece of meat. So customers expect that they can choose a healthy alternative if they visit a restaurant.”

Germans like to eat, and compared to the Dutch they eat a warm meal more often in restaurants or cafeterias at work or school. And there they expect fresh and healthy food.



Healthy doesn’t mean boring
For customers variety is almost just as important as fresh food. And Sous Fresh provides inspiration in the kitchen. For this goal an “Inspiration Box” has been especially developed. The box can be delivered to chefs by German wholesalers and contains six inspiring products with information and recipes. The box with its contents can support chefs with the development of new and healthy recipes. And the chefs can actively influence the Sous Fresh range. If the products in the box get positive feedback from the users they can become part of the Sous Fresh range.



Available in all of Germany
Sous fresh doesn’t supply the restaurants but the products are available through German wholesalers. This creates the possibility for the Dutch company to deliver their products nationwide and reach catering businesses throughout Germany.
