Dirk Heerman, Guido Fruit:

"Correct amounts of stonefruit present"

The stonefruit market is satisfactory at the moment. There are already good volumes available at Guido Fruit from Brussels and according to Dirk Heerman they certainly can't complain. "Peaches and nectarines are of good flavour and quality and are arriving from Sevilla in the right amounts. We sell these under the brand Valerita and customers are very positive about them."

Positive

"With last weeks good weather it was all leaving even faster," he continues. "The supply is good in relation to the demand. There certainly isn't an over supply. The prices are at a normal level for this time of the year. The expectations are positive for the coming season."

Cherries later

Guido Fruit won't start with cherries until later. "We always wait for the good quality and it isn't here yet. It rained a lot there so we decided to wait with cherries. If it continues to be good weather in Spain, I expect to receive the first amounts as of next week. They are from the supplier Zalama."
