Woman's Fresh Perspective Dinner

PMA Fresh Connections opens in Brisbane

The PMA Fresh Connections AU/NZ opened on Monday evening in Brisbane with the Woman's Fresh Perspective Dinner, on the South Bank. This is the second time the event has been held.

The theme this year was "Creating a path to diversity". The first speaker was Rachel Palumbo, Commercial Lead at Monsanto AU/NZ. Rachel said that diversity did not only apply to women but meant a good work/life balance for everyone, she spoke about the value of a gender balanced team within companies.

The Hon Leanne Donaldson MP said how we can always do more to represent women within the industry, she went on to say that 14,000 people are employed in the industry and that people are the powerhouse for new ideas.

The ladies spoke about about how farmers are good at farming, but its the women behind them that see the story, they know to buy and cook vegetables and how to get kids to eat them. This is why the women on the marketing team are good at what they do.

FreshPlaza will be covering the whole PMA Fresh Connections event in Brisbane, look out for more reports in the coming days and also our photo report of the event.
