The produce is always exported to many European countries and, now more than ever, it needs a connection to the production area. "We feel More cherries represent what's good in our area. Together with the new bigger varieties, these can become popular thanks to their higher Brix level and crispiness."
The cherry season at Cherry Passion will start soon, "hoping that the weather does not ruin everything."
"Bigarreaux cherries are early and can already be found on the market, although quantities are limited and prices are very high - €4-8/kg. Because it is very delicate, this variety is usually not exported and the domestic market is in ferment considering the situation in Apulia. Other varieties such as Duroni, More and Ferrovia will start towards 22nd May. There is a lot of fruit on the trees and we are expecting a great season, especially considering demand levels."
Other Cherry Passion ranges will remain unvaried. They include produce from Apulia and from Turkey, which is usually imported and distributed after 20th June.
