Deciduous tree fruits, nuts and grapes
Stonefruit continue to be thinned, and orchards irrigated. Earlicot apricots are being harvested and sent to British Columbia, Canada and domestic markets. Snow Angel peaches are being harvested and exported to Brazil and Canada. Reflecting plastic is being placed in some orchards to help promote color. Cherry harvest is still going strong, with small amounts being exported to Japan and Korea. Grape vines are having some leaves pulled to improve air flow and sun light. Pistachios are being exported to Germany, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. Almond trees are showing rapid fruit growth. Stored almonds are being shipped to Belgium, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Malaysia, South Africa, Japan, Italy, France, Indonesia, China, Korea, and the Dominican Republic.
Citrus
Navel and Valencia oranges continue to be harvested. Quality continues to be an issue as the navel crop continues to mature with the warmer weather. Navel oranges are being packed for the domestic market. Late varieties are being exported to China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Guatemala, and the Philippines. Cara Cara oranges are still being harvested and shipped domestically, with a few exports to China and Korea. The Valencia orange harvest is accelerating. Valencia oranges are being sent to China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates. Seedless tangerines remain netted to prevent cross pollination. Grapefruit are being exported to Panama, the Philippines, and Japan. Lemons are being shipped to Mexico. Citrus groves are being irrigated. Bee keepers are busy moving hives now that the bloom is ending.
Vegetables, melons and berries
Strawberries continue to be harvested and sold in high demand at roadside stands. Blueberries are being harvested, with exports to Canada. Local certified producers are still planting their summer vegetable crops. Early planted Sweet corn is germinating. Some melons are germinating and leafing out.
