Figs severely impacted by severe winter cold waves

"Impacted by continuous hypothermia between last November and December, the fig trees planted outdoor in Northern China are seriously frozen. As a consequence, the fig maturity time was delayed about 10 days and its yield decreased around 10%. The good news is that the newly planted fig trees can contribute to some of the yields. Therefore, the whole market supply is rather stable with a slight price increase. The brook red jelly figs get mature in mid-June, and they swarm the market by early July and can last until the end of the following January. As a contract, green figs come to the market later than brook red jelly figs, normally between mid-August and early December.
