Van Nature’s customer-oriented policy produces wide, innovative range

This season Van Nature is offering an even wider range of products including many new additions. And various products are now more widely available thanks to an increase in the number of crops grown year round. All this is the outcome of Van Nature’s customer-oriented approach.

Customer-oriented cultivation
By continuously following developments in the market and trends among consumers, Van Nature aims to lay the basis for customer-oriented cultivation. Together with its trade partners, Van Nature makes every effort to meet its customers’ wishes in the fields of availability, quality, taste, etc. As a result, the cultivation of specific varieties or products intensifies every year.

Expansion of the range
This year, Van Nature has expanded its range with for examples, pink cocktail tomatoes on the vine, purple, brown and white sweet peppers, Wild Tomato Mix and small vine cherry tomatoes.

This expansion of the range went hand in hand with the introduction of various distinctive labels and concepts that offer both buyers and consumers added value.

Increase in number of crops grown year round
The cultivation of greenhouse crops with grow lights has been steadily intensifying over the past few years, also among Van Nature’s growers. This particular production method is used specifically to meet a market demand. In winter there is plenty of foreign produce available, but there is also a specific demand for high-quality, sustainable and safe products of the kind grown by Van Nature’s growers.

Some of Van Nature’s buyers specifically ask for tomatoes and cherry tomatoes on the vine, sweet peppers and (medium-sized) cucumbers grown with lighting because they know that their taste, quality, food safety and delivery reliability will meet their requirements.
For this reason Van Nature asked its members Drenthe Growers and Fa. Verkade to grow their (medium-sized) cucumbers and tomatoes on the vine, respectively, with grow lights last winter. This has further enhanced the diversity of the range of produce grown year round.

Some of the newly introduced products may also be grown with lighting the coming winter, but of course only if there is customer demand for them.
