"Jeffrey Moret: "In the middle of Argentinian organic top fruit season"

"Volumes of organic fruit from overseas doubled"

A year and a half ago Jeffrey Moret and Cees van Vugt started Marni Organics. Although in the first months the bulk of the supply came from the Netherlands, Spain and Israel, the overseas trade is now also an important branch of the company. Due to the growth, the commercial team has been extended with two members. "As far as volume is concerned the volume of organic fruit from overseas has doubled compared to last year!"

"At the moment we are in the middle of the overseas top fruit season. We are expecting the Argentinian Royal Gala apples this week, after which we are expecting to switch to Chile in mid May," says Jeffrey. "We are also carrying the complete pear assortment of Packhams, Anjou, Abate and Red Bartlett from Argentina. The price of apples is traditionally high. The pear market started enthusiastically and the demand is reasonably high."

"It was an important goal to expand into the overseas trade and we have succeeded. We mainly export the fruit to buyers in Scandinavia and Germany. The fruit season from overseas is being continued by organic limes that we are expecting from Mexico at the end of May," continues Jeffrey.

"We are now also receiving organic Hass avocados by air freight and will later switch to containers from Peru and Mexico. Last but not least, the second arrival of organic yellow onions from Egypt is planned. All in all we are receiving enough containers of organic trade from overseas. It's our challenge to sell it!"
