Mivena Specialty Fertilizer Company in Ukraine

During the past few years information in the media coming from Ukraine has been mainly focused on the sad news of the war taking place in the country. However, for a big part of the country life goes on and so does the work.

Ukraine has always been a huge producer of fruits and the fruit industry is considered to be one of the most promising sectors in the country. In the years of the Soviet Union, Ukraine was a key supplier of fruits for the immense country. The professional production in the early nineties laid around 3 million tonnes per year. After the independence these volumes dropped dramatically, but since the start of the new century the numbers are climbing up again and are estimated to be between 2 and 3 million tonnes again now. With the current situation in the eastern part, it is of course very difficult to get exact figures.

Beside the excellent possibilities for the production of fruits, Ukraine also had a very difficult registration system to get foreign products on its market until recently. Many companies have tried to get through this project and stopped at one stage or another. However, it should be noted that the events that took place in Ukraine in recent years, gave rise to a series of reforms and fundamental changes in the legislation. The country has changed a number of laws, namely relating to taxes, customs and the legal regime of agrochemicals. But ways to confirm the quality of products which are imported into the territory of Ukraine, are still part of the historical heritage from the Soviet system.

This is why Mivena Specialty Fertilizer Company is extremely proud to announce that they, as the first producer of CRF fertilizers, have completed the full cycle of administration in the field of official opportunities of importation into the customs territory of Ukraine of Mivena products. They did it together with their Ukrainian distributor Agroenergopostach in March 2016. Not only is this good news for Mivena and a recognition of their quality, but also for the growers in Ukraine who would like to step up the professionalism of their production. Quality fertilizers such as Field-Cote CRF®, Horti-Cote Plus CRF® and Granusol WSF® are being used by many fruit producers and plant propagators in the EU for many years and now the Ukrainian market will have access to this too.

It goes without saying that Mivena and Agroenergopostach will not just supply the fertilizer, but they will also help the clients with advice and fertilization schedules. By using the Mivena products and advice the Ukrainian fruit producers will have a good possibility to raise their quality and familiarise themselves with the EU standards.
