Market overview Germany:

Tomato supply mainly from Spain, Italy and the Netherlands

Vine tomatoes and regular tomatoes mainly come from Spain, and on some markets from Turkey and Morocco too. The Central European supplies were manageable amounts and increased marginally. As a result the demand couldn’t sufficiently be met and the prices increased and the sales slowed down. Some traders could reverse this process with price reductions.

The beefsteak tomatoes mainly originated from Belgium and Turkey. The supply was largely based on the demand. The prices were subject to fluctuations but nevertheless generally ended at a certain level of stability.

Cherry tomatoes mostly came from Italy and the Netherlands, the supply of cherry tomatoes from Spain increased. The prices were quite high, mainly due to the excellent quality. The first Roma tomatoes from Germany came on the market and sold for 7 Euros per kilo.
