Red kiwi storage life extended to 6 months

Chinese company Fruitong Science & Technology has recently developed a new storage method for red kiwis, which has extended storage life to 6 months.

The experiment took place in the first ultra-low oxygen kiwi CA storage warehouse in Guizhou in Southwestern China.

A batch of fresh kiwis has been stored in the CA storage center in August 2015. Without the use of any additional preservatives, the kiwis have successfully come out. Their taste, colour and firmness have been tightly controlled.

Established in 1996, Fruitong Science & Technology is one of the first integrated solution providers on the Chinese market. The company can execute the construction of cold storage, CA (controlled atmosphere ) equipment manufacturing, R&D on fruit and vegetable preservation technology and commercialisation of post-harvest processing equipment.

In 2006, the company has established the first Orange CA storage warehouse in Jiangxi Province. This has successfully extended storage life to six months.

In 2010, it has constructed an advanced quick-freeze corn storage warehouse. In 2012, by implementing CA technology, it has successfully extended storage life of Shenzhou sweet peaches to 3 months
