FASFC reports that the Belgian supermarkets Colruyt Collect&Go, OKay and Albert Heijn have recalled minneolas this week. During an inspection of minneolas, the supplier found that they contained too much Carbaryl. Carbaryl is a crop protection agent that is used against insects. The exceeded toxic amount is on the skin of the minneolas.
Repeated and frequent intake of Carbaryl can cause headache, muscle paralysis, nausea, stomach cramps, sweating and restlessness. That's why supermarkets are recalling the minneolas as a precaution. They are asking their customers not to consume the minneolas, and to take them back to the store, where they will get their money back. All stores have now taken the products off the shelves.
