And these low temperatures have a negative influence on the growth speed of the strawberries.” And the next few weeks the wholesaler expects decreased supplies too.

“At the moment we have little produce but the demand is even lower,” says the importer, “That means that we have to sell the strawberries below the market price.” According to the wholesaler the quality of the red fruit is good. Only the size of the fruit scares away some customers.
“When the temperatures in Germany increases the demand will increase too,” the expert is sure, “That will prevent us from having to sell the strawberries at lower prices.”
