Packaged salad specialist Eisberg in new hands

The Bell Group, which is the majority shareholder of Hilcona Holding AG, has taken over the Eisberg Group, a company specialised in the processing and bagging of vegetables (mostly salads), which has a plant in Legnica.

Eisberg employs approximately 400 employees and generates annual revenues of more than 55 million Swiss francs (50.27 million Euro).

The firm is mostly devoted to the production of fresh leafy salad mixes and processed salads. It has production plants in Switzerland, Poland, Hungary and Romania and a purchasing office in Spain. Customer groups are retail chains and the catering sector.

Organizationally, Eisberg will be merged with the company Gastro Star and the objective is to create an independent company within Hilcona Holding. The parties agreed that the purchase price will not be disclosed. The acquisition is subject to approval by the relevant state institution for the protection of competition, the Polish UOKiK.
