Fruit imports surge in Gangxi Province

In 2015, a total of 12,000 tons of fruits were imported from Fangchenggang Port Service Center in Guangxi Province. With a value worth 52,077 million yuan, the growth trend in fruit import is quite evident. Last year, fruits were imported from the port in the form of general trade, and among all the imported fruits, the majority was of dragon fruit, durian, mangosteen and other tropical fruits, of which 90% is imported from Vietnam.

As of April 2015, Fangchenggang Port Service Center was designated the only harbor for fruit import in Guangxi Province. In June, the port was officially put into operation. Since then it has served as the closest port for Southeast Asia fruit imports thanks to its advantages in terms of integrated logistics, time and cost.
