Three new cherimoya-based premium cosmetic products have hit the market this year following the success of the first product sold by a family business based in Lobres, Salobreña, Granada.
As pointed out by Jesús Guerrero, one of the owners of the company Éyone Cosmetics, they have exceeded their initial expectations and in just a month and a half have attracted more than 3,000 customers, three times more than originally expected.
They have also reached an agreement with an international trading company for the product's supply.
This is the main motivation for the laboratory to launch new products in the coming months, including a defoliant with cherimoya seeds and an eye liner.
Guerrero stressed that cherimoya is a fruit with many useful properties for cosmetics because of its large content of vitamins, its extracts rich in active ingredients and its high content of vitamin C, which exerts an antioxidant action.
According to studies, this vitamin is also involved in the production of collagen.
Given that the fruit is a great source of vitamins A and C, it has an antioxidant effect, according to Guerrero.
It is also one of the few fruits that contain vitamins B1 and B2, known by the names thiamine and riboflavin. The latter can help improve your look and facilitates the formation of the skin.
Cherimoyas also contains calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium and sodium.
This new product, due to hit the market soon, stimulates cell renewal, slows down the appearance of wrinkles and softens those already present.
Lobres' company has been working with a laboratory in Barcelona for more than two years to get an exclusive and innovative formula based on cherimoyas, which his family has always cultivated, and to achieve the right texture and smell for the final product.
He explains that, from an early age, he suffered with acne problems that conventional cosmetics could not tackle, and after trying out recommended products, he saw an improvement by smearing cherimoyas; it was at that point when he considered the possibility of making use of the fruit for the production of cosmetics.
