Abkhazia enforcing sanctions against Turkey
The Prime Minister of the unrecognised republic of Abkhazia, Artur Mikvabiya, has followed suit on Russia's decision and will be establishing restrictions on Turkish imports from 1 March 2016, reports Espreso.TV with information from "Interfax".
The list of agricultural products (fresh and/or refrigerated) on which such restrictions will be imposed includes: potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic and other bulbous vegetables; cabbage, cauliflower, kale and other similar edible fruits of the genus brassica; cucumbers and gherkins, citrus fruits, fresh grapes, melons (including watermelons) and papayas, apples, pears and quinces, plums, apricots, cherries and sweet cherries and peaches (including nectarines).
The Prime Minister has also ordered to suspend the activities in Abkhazia of all organisations based or managed by Turkish nationals or organizations under its jurisdiction.
It is noted that the restrictions do not apply to goods imported for personal use, to the extent permitted by Abkhazian law.
