The doypac concept has been available for a while, but now Schur Star Systems also has the standing bag in a resealable variety with the appearance of a preserving jar. "There is a shift from pots and cans to standing backs and this packaging offers a nice medium. The unique appearance can also be emphasised with a customer specific print," says sales manager Ruud van den Heiligenberg.
Although the packaging has been on the market for a while, the variation for fruit and vegetables has recently been sold by Sun Select in the North American retail, for instance. "It's a real eye catcher and the packaging does well when offering snack vegetables. With four available sizes, the Schur-Jar can also be used for kiwi, for instance."
The Schur-Jar is already on Norwegian shelves in Europe and Ruud reports that the nostalgic doypack will soon also be available in German and Dutch supermarkets.
