The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced that the country's total fruit exports in 2015, amounted to 1 million 605 thousand tonnes and where the most exported agricultural products, followed by vegetables, with 1 million 102 thousand tonnes. Two noteworthy products are onions, with 213 thousand tonnes and citrus fruits, with 115 thousand tonnes.
As regards imports, the Ministry of Agriculture, in a report on Tuesday, confirmed that Egypt's vegetable imports amounted to 1,754 thousand tonnes, while the total fruit volumes imported reached 624 thousand tonnes, explaining also that detailed plans are in place for the implementation of good practices in agriculture in order to ensure the expansion of agricultural exports overseas and increase the returns of foreign exchange.
