Korean pocketsize fruit scanner to debut in Berlin

The pocket sized fruit scanner “SUNFOREST P-100” will make its debut at the Fruit Logistica 2016. The fruit scanner has a miniature NIT-spectrometer as well as a light source. The light source shines on the sample and the spectrometer receives the reflected light and creates a light spectrum. The information in the light spectrum is used to measure the interaction between the projected light and molecules in the sample.



The light spectrum shows the quality of the sample. The application on the mobile phone uploads the data of the P-100-Scanner to the Sunforest-Analyse-Engine servers. The Sunforest-Analyse-Engine analyses the light spectrum and compares it to the reference database and calculates the Sunforest algorithm. The output identifies the quality, Brix-Wert, of the sample and is shown in the app on the users mobile phone.
