Potato prices East Germany CW 34
The LEH has sufficient table potatoes from regional cultivation. The producer prices for all cooking types are between 19 and 22 EUR/dt. In part, cheap parties of the type Solist from Lower Saxony are turning up on the market. Due to the holiday, sales have been quiet. With mostly good weather conditions, the clearing of the early species is proceeding rapidly. In easy locations, an absence of precipitation was reported. Since the start of the week, starch potatoes are being cleared. With unchanged prices for peeled raw goods, the prices for peel-potatoes have remained stable.

Brandenburg
The producer prices for table potatoes have sunk slightly in the previous week, but are clearly higher than last year. In the prepacked business, the type Lilly from Saxony-Anhalt is already available. The supply is sufficient for the seasonally low demand. Despite rainfalls, the clearing of fields for the early types is proceeding well in the easy locations. Peel-product producers with their own production are only harvesting for the immediate demand. In peeling, there are the Gala and Princess variety, which are certified to have good quality and a firm peel. Pricewise, nothing has changed compared to last week.
Saxony
Continuing high-summer temperatures and holidays make for low sales in the table potato Business. The firm-cooking potatoes offered in the prepacked business are traded for prices of 18 to 22 EUR/dt. For firm- and floury cooking potatoes prices of up to 24 EUR/dt are paid. There is no reason to complain. In the southern part of Saxony, 50% of potato stocks have turned ripe. In the higher locations, the stocks are still really green. With an average harvest however, they are counting on 20% less than last year. The peel-potato prices are unchanged compared to last week. With the start of school in the coming week, they are counting on an increased demand.

Saxony-Anhalt
While rain is regionally leading to interruptions in the harvest, elsewhere the soil conditions are improved, and with that the quality of the clearing work. Market participants report that depending on location and availability of water, to some degree the potato yields show an unprecedented range of variation. For later types, they are still hoping for an increase in yield. The harvest of specie-group II is still going. Due to drought, in some places there are still no signs of ripening in the main species. In those places, measurements to stimulate ripening will be carried out in the coming days. The producer prices for table potatoes have slightly decreased compared to last week. Sales remain low in the domains of prepacked and peel-potatoes.
Thuringia
Regional products are still not available on a large scale. The local demand is mostly satisfied with products from Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt by the prepacking companies. Correspondingly prices are at a similar level. The demand is generally described as calm. Due to the long-lasting drought the late species are lacking in mass increase. The peel-potato prices are stable.
