Dutch bell peppers dominate German market

On German wholesale markets, the Dutch bell peppers dominated events in all colour groups. This is from the BLE market report of CW 32/15. Offers from Turkey, Belgium and Hungary complimented the assortment.

The average price of green bell peppers was 2.04 € per kilo in calendar week 32. On average, yellow offers cost 1.82 € per kilo and red 1.59 €/ The availability consistently stayed within limits, although the demand for bell peppers was bustling. Because of this, prices rose, often even markedly, but not steadily. At times the red varieties were at the upper price ranges, and at times the green or yellow varieties.

Closely tied to the size of orders and inflow, the demand for the individual offers can change almost daily. Hungarian parties were only a limited part of this volatile development. The Turkish products more frequently had a fixed rating. With fruits from Germany, the prices occasionally went up.
