French plum season begins

The season began during week 27 with the first varieties, Allo and Obilnaya, then the Japanese-American varieties and now the Reine-Claude d’Oullins variety. The supply should expand with the golden Reine-Claude in the South West at the end of July/ beginning of August, followed by the first mirabelles at the start/mid August. Potential was slightly low for early varieties, but appears to be normal for seasonal varieties, including mirabelles (which had particularly abundant flowering this summer).
