Marco de Koster, Tramper Technology:

"Complete tray sealing lines produced under own management"

Nearly two years ago, Tramper Technology opened their new facilities in Goes, the Netherlands, with a total surface area of 10.000m2. In these facilities, a team of more than fifty employees actively develop and manufacture complete tray sealing lines for the food processing industry. The entire process, from the first contact with the client, up to and including the delivery of the machines and projects, takes place under their own management.

Tramper Technology was founded in 1986 by Peter Tramper under the name “Tramper Techniek” in a facility of 50m2 in ‘s Gravenpolder. “The first fifteen years we especially focused on the construction of custom-made machines. However, for the last number of years the most significant production activities are made up of building machine series. Due to the demand for leak-proof solutions in the shellfish industry, we built our first four tray sealing machines in 2003. While exhibiting at the Macropak in 2004, we came into contact with a number of vegetable processing companies. From this point this industry clearly saw the added value of our tray sealing lines”, says Marco de Koster, who has been employed by Tramper since 1999 and has formed the management together with Peter and André Tramper since 2012.

“In the mean time, we have supplied numerous fruit and vegetable processing companies with complete tray sealing lines. We recently installed the tenth tray sealing line by Vezet for ready meal salads, or other products”, says Marco. “We deliver a complete range of machines for the denesting, weighing, filling, sealing and lidding of all sorts of trays, in which we use our experience of making custom machines in the past. We are focused on providing complete packaging solutions, and rather supply quality than quantity. In addition to this, we can integrate standard machines such as multihead weighers, labelling and printing machines, check weighers and metal detection systems in our tray sealing lines in close consultation with the customer.”

“Nowadays, customers demand more flexibility than in the past, due to the diversity of products. With our servo-driven machines, we can fulfill and surpass these requirements like no other. In the vegetable processing industry, there is still a notable amount of manual labour due to the fact that the automation demand is not easily fulfilled. This is another aspect where we offer a significant added value”, says Marco.

“The Benelux is our domestic market and we will not lose it out of sight, but we notice a growing demand for our machines in France and Scandinavian countries. We also see a growing market for ready meal salads in countries like Germany. Our first participation at the Fruit Logistica this year confirmed this view”, says Marco. “In the coming years we hope to expand our sales network in other countries as well. However, we are convinced that a controlled growth is of great importance. We are known for our excellent service and high quality machines and we want to hold on to this reputation.”
