Tomato prices have increased slightly this week, especially for tomatoes on the vine, which stand between 0.60 and 0.50 Euro per kilo. Pear tomatoes reach initial prices of 0.57 Euro and final sales at around 0.40 Euro per kilo.
Green long life tomatoes are sold for between 0.70 and 0.55 Euro. Tomato supply volumes are progressively increasing, as the new plantings of the spring campaign are now becoming productive.
All pepper varieties have become more expensive compared to last week. Yellow bell peppers reach the highest prices, ranging between 2.10 and 1.70 Euro. The scarcity of this variety has caused prices to skyrocket. Red bell peppers reach initial prices of 1.50 Euro, with final sales at around 1.30 Euro per kilo. Green peppers range between 1.20 and 0.90 Euro. The red Lamuyo starts at 1.40 Euro and ends at around 1.20 Euro per kilo. The green Lamuyo ranges between 1.20 and 0.80 Euro. Green Italian peppers have stood at 1.30 to 0.95 Euro, while the red Italian reached initial prices of 1.40 Euro and final sales at 0.90 Euro per kilo.
Long cucumber prices remain between 0.40 and 0.20 Euro per kilo. The Dutch production is already significant and clients are abandoning Almeria, thus resulting in lower demand and prices at origin. On the opposite side of the scale, black short cucumbers are in very limited supply, with prices ranging between 1.70 and 1.40 Euro per kilo. French cucumbers reach initial prices of 0.85 Euro and final sales at around 0.72 Euro per kilo.
Green beans continue registering high prices this week, especially the Strike, with an average of 4 Euro per kilo. The red Perona stood at an average price of 3.10 Euro, while the Helda reached initial prices of 2.90 Euro and final sales at around 1.20 Euro per kilo.
Meanwhile, the price of striped aubergines, whose production was very small, increased this week up to 2.70 Euro, with final sales at 1.50 Euro per kilo. Long aubergines ranged between 0.60 and 0.40 Euro, thus going back to the price levels of the previous week.
Thin courgettes reached initial prices of 1.30 Euro and final sales at 1.10 Euro. Thick courgettes ranged between 1.15 and 1 Euro per kilo. This campaign has been really good for courgette growers, as prices have improved the most due to the drop in Moroccan exports and the reduction in the acreage for fear of the New Delhi virus in Almeria's greenhouses.
