Capsipop
The Capsipop brings exceptional aesthetic value to the common pepper plant. This is also done by unique grafting, for which they have a worldwide patent. "The plant looks prominent and attractive, and the consumers can directly see what they can eat."
Basil tree
This basil plant combines the performance of bonsai-tree with the desired aroma characteristics of Basil. Due to grafting, the basil will develop a real woody trunk and a decorative "Ball head". The plant can be placed in the window or in the garden and can be harvested all year round.
The Tomaccio and the Sweet Potato are plants that were also on display. Their relative advantage is not necessarily due to an unusual instance, but due to distinctive traits.
Tomaccio
The Tomaccio TM is a result of 12 years breeding work and is based on wild Peruvian tomato species. "The tomaccio is the essence of all the good qualities of the tomato". Next to the fact that the tomatoes are healthy and sweet, they can also be consumed fresh or dried. "This is unique, because common cherry tomatoes will become rotten when they are harvested and dried, but the tomaccio can be dried and preserved, even on the plant itself"
Sweet Potato
The ipomea batatas is a tuberous-rooted perennial that has been grown for its orange-fleshed edible core. "It is a potato of the Incas and is sweet and very healthy". The cuttings from young plants are exported all over Europe.
Next to these new plants, Hishtil also produces hundreds of species of young plant all year round, herbs and vegetables, in specialized nurseries, which are located all over the world. They make use of their new concept: 'Clean to eat'. With this concept, all the production line is monitored to ensure health, avoid pathogens and pollutants. "We take care from the beginning; the water, growing media and sources of propagation materials." Besides that, the pests are also continuously monitored. "Due to the residue regulations and the different residue regulations in the EU, we use integrated pest management methods, adopt organic methods for pest control like natural predators, and develop new application systems that enable minimizing chemical control".
