The harvesting time of Fuji apples in Yantai China has started

Fuji apples are growing very popular in China and different growing areas have different harvesting times. As the traditional area for growing apples, Yantai area has already started harvesting work for Fuji apples. Yantai area is also the traditional area for exporting apples.

This season, the yield of Fuji apples is less 10-20% than last season. The reasons for this are the earlier bad climate and most apple trees are old. But thank God, the climate became very good when the apples were actually growing on the trees, the size of apples grew bigger than last season, and the quality is also very good. It makes the growers happy after expecting a lower yield.

To pursue good profit, growers enlarged growing areas for apples because they got good rewards in recent years. As the cost, such as growing, packing, workers salary, etc., keep rising, growers have high expectation for the collected price in this new season. If the collected price does not satisfy their expectation, they are willing to store apples, instead of selling them straight away, in order to wait for a good price in 2015. So, in this season, the collected work will be finished soon, it will be finished early November at the latest.

Anyhow, Fuji apples are still the most favourite apples in the Asian market. The consumers in Asia all like its taste, sweet and juicy. Though it is more expensive than before, consumers still love it. But the high price of Fuji apples helps other varieties of apples, such as Qinguan apple, Jiguan apple, Guoguang apple, to earn and retain their market shares, and survive in the end.

For the higher price reason, the Fuji apple markets of China are still in its traditional markets- the Asian market. Other markets such as Europe, can’t accept the high price of it. They have their local apples with lower prices. There is less demand for Chinese Fuji apples than before in Europe.

To overcome the effects of price, Chinese growers, packers, exporters keep improving the quality of Fuji apples. Because the Chinese Fuji apples have their own characteristics, brilliant colour, very sweet, very juicy….. , consumers always love it!
