Israeli cress and Italian lettuce under 'Ready to Eat' brand
"Our cress come from Israel and are grown without pesticides. We grow our product in three weeks time. Ready to Eat stands for convenience, it also means that not much is done to the product before it is reserved by our guests. We call it Ready to Eat, but we do advise people to rinse the cress before using it," says Hans. Hans met 2B Fresh at the last 'Fruit Logisitca' in Berlin.
The cress assortment includes, but is not limited to, Basil, Bean Sprouts, Beet Bulls Blood, Broccoli, Cilantro, Green Pac Choy, Mizuna, Mustard, Pea Shoots, Pepper Cress, Red Amaranth, Red Basil, Red Mizuna, Rocket, Sakura, Green Shiso, Shiso Purple and Sun Flower. "We packed all the cress into boxes, each with 20 trays (40 grams per tray). The packaging has a bar code and a long THT. The less popular types of cress can be ordered with a minimum of 5 trays," says Hans.
"We hope that we can play an important role in the cress market. There is a lot of interest from the hotel branch and it is not the smallest hotels that want to go into business. Our advantage is that we offer a product that is tenable for ten days, and we have a competitive price of 3 net Euro for wholesalers for one 40 gram box. The interest is promising."

Italian lettuce
Ready to Eat also has a wide range of Italian lettuce available. This lettuce is grown without pesticides and after being harvested it is washed twice. The lettuce is available throughout the whole year. "Customers have reacted enthusiastically to this product as well," says Hans, who does not exclude the idea of the line expanding to have more products.
