Azerbaijan sells $68.9 mln-fruit and vegetables in January-June

During the first half of 2014, Azerbaijan produced AZN 2.3 bln-output, up 5.8% from previous year, said the Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov in his speech at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of socio-economic development in the first half of 2014 and objectives for the future chaired by President Ilham Aliyev.

He noted that plant-growing products amounted to AZN 973 mln, livestock products to AZN 1.3 bln, up 10.1% and 3% compared to a year earlier.

Share of agricultural products in GDP remained unchanged at 4.4%. export of fruit and vegetable during the first half of this year rose 27.9% to $68.9 mln.
