Moroccan exports to Sub-Saharan Africa increase

Over the last 4 years the volume of Moroccan citrus exports to the Sub- Saharan market has developed over 70%. Yet, despite this important growth in export towards Sub-Saharan Africa, Morocco only exports 3% of their exports to this part of the world. According to figures from the ADII (customs and direct tax administration), America takes in 12% and Europe 85% of Morocco's exports.

However with 48 countries who have a 6% growth rate, the potential of the Sub Saharan market is all but negligible and demands from these markets is in huge expansion. ''Made in Morocco'' exports went from 9,425 tons in 2009 to 16,082 tons in 2013. At the moment the main destination markets are Mauritania, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Gabon and Guinea.
