building will be rented to The Greenery long term

Jan and Cees van den Heuvel buy Greenery headquarters in Barendrecht

On Tuesday the 1st of July, Duo Invest, owned by the brothers Cees and Jan van den Heuvel, bought the headquarters of The Greenery at the Spoorwegemplacement in Barendrecht. This makes the Van den Heuvel brothers the owners of the office building (7,000 m2) that they worked in for years (Jan) or built themselves (Cees) once again. The warehouse space is not included in the takeover.

The Greenery's high green office building was built in 1999. "We were always charmed by the building," says Jan van den Heuvel in a response. The Greenery verbally confirmed through a spokesperson that Duo Invest is the new owner of the office building in Barendrecht and that The Greenery will rent it back long term. "Nothing will change for the employees in the building."

Jan officially stood down as president-director of Hagé International in May 2002, after which he remained active as the advisor on the Board of Directors of The Greenery. After the foundation of HillFresh in 2007 with his son Hans, nephew Leo van den Heuvel and Pieter de Jong as management - Jan was officially involved in HillFresh as an advisor.

In 2003 Van den Heuvel moved into a smaller office close by. "My furniture just came with me. But my new place was around 20% the size of my office at Hagé," Jan remembered in the trade magazine Primeur last year. However, it seems unlikely he will be moving his furniture back into his old office due to the rent agreement.
