Leclerc's 500th click and collect point opens

Leclerc's 500th click and collect point opened on the 29th May near Saint Etienne. Mr Leclerc says that Mr Payraudeau ''was the inventor, in the engineering sense of the term'' of the concept. Mr Payraudeau was inspired during his time with Auchan to develop the click and collect system. Today the click and collect system represents 3.9% of food market share. Leclerc Drive has 44% alone, and ''Leclerc plus Auchan and Chronodrive, make up 78% of click and collect'' says Mr Payraudeau.

Following the recent opening of Mr Payraydeau's second click and collect point, new ideas are being carried out. They want it to be identifiable at a glance with modernised colour coding and signs. 80% of the network will be upgraded over the next 2 years. The concept will develop and they will develop the ''collecting'' idea by introducing slow rotating stands that will allow them to prepare 30 orders at once. For a month now Google Glass has also been tested to improve client relations (loyalty card scans, client follow-up…)

140 click and collect points have been opened this year, but the figure will decrease as of 2015. Other strategies are being discussed such as how to branch out into city centres and large towns .
