Casino develops international e-commerce: Cnova

The agricultural sector (JA, Chamber of Agriculture, Fdsea) are asking for a ''general mobilisation from parliament and local authorities''. They want a ''natural disaster'' procedure to be undertaken. ''Support is essential to help farmers and overcome this test'' say the organisations.

Based in Holland, Cnova is the Casino group's new international e-commerce entity. This follows a grouping together of Cdiscount in France, Colombia, Thailand and Vietnam and the websites Extra.com, CasasBahia.com, Pontofrio.com and Nova Pontocom (company owned in majority by Casino subsidiaries) in Brazil.

According to the figures in 2013, Cnova represents a $4.9 billion turnover.

Jean-Charles Naouri, CEO of the Casino group will be named Chairman of the Board of Cnova, which will be led by two co-Director Generals, the current Director Generals of Cdiscount and Nova Pontocom.

An application for registration was made regarding an eventual quotation on the American stock market.
