In three years Roamler has grown to a company that is present in thirteen countries. In June 2011 Roamler started out in Holland, and soon after, in Great Britain. Roamler extended to Sweden, Italy, Poland, Germany and Chile last year. Six countries were added in 2014. Roamler was launched in Colombia and Mexico, and Spain, France, Luxembourg and Belgium were also recently added to the list. Roamler will start in Turkey in July, which brings the total count to fourteen.
Mobile Workforce
Roamler uses a community of smartphone users to collect location based information. This information is supported with photographic evidence. Smartphone users, or 'Roamlers', can earn money and points (XP) by carrying out small tasks through the Roamler app. This varies from taking photos of products on the shelves of supermarkets and taking snaps of promotion campaign, to showing how a product is used at home. At the moment there are thousands of Roamlers worldwide who carried out 45,000 tasks this year already to earn some extra money.
Improvement of retail execution
Roamler is a handy way for companies and organisation to collect information in a quick and detailed way. Information is rapidly collected through a combination of a camera, gps, internet connection and the 'crowd'. These results are available online immediately and can be acted upon. Almost Roamler works for various organisations and companies, there is a clear focus on the retail industry after three years. With the current international coverage, information that is both specific and up to date is collected in a short time, and is no longer limited to national borders.
