Virtual dressing rooms to become allies of healthy diet

Trying on a new outfit is always time consuming, but technology is making it simpler and more fun. Virtual dressing rooms are like mirrors, but they show you wearing the outfit you previously selected from a list.

This brand new instrument could be also useful for other things. For example, why not show clients what their silhouette could be like if they ate healthy food and were active? It could be an incentive to change their lifestyle!

Convincing young generations to eat more fruit and vegetables is difficult, that's why it is necessary to make it more appealing.

Allegiance between virtual world and reality
The fact that the virtual world could influence real life has already been demonstrated by a study published by the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology. The research shows how an overweight avatar can help people loose excess weight.

"We created a variety of environments where an overweight avatar walks on a treadmill or buys healthy food. The clip was then showed for four weeks to a group of eight overweight women and the result was the women losing up to 1.5 kilos in a month," explain Antonio Giordano and Giuseppe Russo, who created the clip.
