Moisture loss halved, fresh for longer
Due to the moisture saturated cool air (98%-99% RV) blown along the warm fruit, heat is extracted without moisture loss. Condensation does not occur on the product and loss of quality and weight loss is kept to a minimum. The effects of moisture loss, compared to other forms of cooling is halved. The constant temperature and high humidity Filacell® also extends the shelf life of products. The Filacell® cooling system sees products such as vegetables, fruit and cut flowers kept fresher for two to three times longer than conventional cooling systems.
Pallet loads cooled in a few hours
Through its internal ice bank the system contains a large cold buffer and re-cooling can take place much quicker. With the aid of a through flow, pallet loads can be cooled to the desired temperature in a matter of hours because cold air is forced through the packaging, which is of great importance to products with a short shelf life. The faster cooling takes place with the Filacell® system, the less moisture is lost then the longer the shelf life.
Various fruit & vegetable companies at home and abroad are already making use and are fully satisfied with the Filacell® system. The system is also suitable for use within climate controlled rooms and for those with a high humidity regulation Filacell® is ideal.
