Milestone
Bart said: "This project is a milestone for the existence of the group in the sense that we can expand the range infinitely and create added value. Where we used to perform these activities here and there, we are now centralised, and offer a more professional package. We provide a complete service where all packaging possibilities are considered, to various labour intensive activities such as quality control, moving, sorting, labelling, and repackaging of products, or the stacking of larger units. Some services can also be carried out at different locations depending on the customers wishes."

Focus on innovation
"Starpack is an umbrella company which is ISO 22000 certified. We have enough room to fulfil the commitments to our customers and their packaging, storage and logistical requirements and also offer this to companies outside the group who may wish to use our services. We had a good customer base in the past and we are continually expanding. Standing still would be comparable to going backwards! We aim to make a difference in the professional way we meet customer's demands and find solutions," added Bart. "That way we keep the focus on improvements and innovation. Sustainability is also an important aspect for our packaging. In the future we are moving towards the use of biodegradable products and ensuring that the right product comes in the right package."
Future
"In the future Starpack will also offer fruit ripening," said Jurgen de Witte. "We see a large potential for different varieties of fruit especially as people want to buy fruit and immediately consume it. We want to expand towards a complete logistic centre where we can offer client's availability 24/7. All our processes need to be optimised. Our logistic services Adritrans and Andiprim provide this transport service. We have an area of 10,000 square meters, with plenty of expansion possibilities, and another large space located in Saint-Katelijne-Waver which is perfectly located next to Europe's largest fruit and vegetable auction."

His father, Achiel de Witte, continues: "I had low expectations when I began, and I never expected us to grow so large. We could not have done all this without our competent and trustworthy staff. Our group of 400 staff are incredibly flexible and able to quickly address any request put to them. I think our future looks fantastic with more possibilities for growth," he concluded.
Group A de Witte operate within a group of fruit and vegetable traders, importers and exporters and offers a complete package. The expansion of the group with Starpack means the addition of a complete logistic solution.
