Officine Mingozzi

Italy: An innovative machine to reducing Psa risk to kiwis

Officine Mingozzi is a company manufacturing machinery for weed control and the disinfection of crops. It was selected for the tender issued by Enama thanks to its project to disinfect and reclaim land for kiwis thanks to an instantaneous warm up of pruned wood, thus reducing the risk of bacterioris.

The project is environmentally sustainable, as this technique reduces the need for chemicals and GPL fuel is environmentally friendly.

The new machine will use the same principle of the heat weeding machine.

The prototype chops pruning residues in a single passage warming up the wood and the top layer of the ground quickly to disinfect the plants.

The project is made up of three phases: after studying and creating a first prototype, results are analysed and the final version of the machine is adjusted.

"Using this technique with the new machine can effectively contribute to the fight against the Psa bacteria," says Marco Mingozzi.
