The main Australian citrus season will be winding down towards the end of November, Chris Deveney from Favco said the company hope to sold 6 million cartons, 60% of which goes to the Australian market through major retailers and independent traders.

The mango season is just getting underway and according to Chris it is still a bit patchy, "By the first week of December it will be in full swing, 70% of our mangoes go to the domestic market, the varieties we have are Kensington pride, R2E2 and Keitt."

Pineapples are of course available year round, Chris explains that the there is a growing market for the new varieties OZ Jubilee and OZ Festival, "These are the first Australian bred pineapples and are of high sugar and low acid content. These varieties are also resistant to Blackheart."

There are also a few new citrus varieties on the horizon and a low seed Murcott and seedless lemon are already available.

Favco have their own farms and own some of the varieties which they grow, the company is supported by other strategic growers.
