Solatia

Italy: Premium range guaranteed by Granfrutta Zani

Elisa Zani, marketing manager for Granfrutta Zani, says that, "the Solatia brand was created a year ago to meet the demands of our Italian clients for high-quality fruit. It is a premium range which is well looked after from planting to the retailers' shelves."

The difference is in the accurate checks along the whole chain: Granfrutta Zani selects the best varieties of strawberries, apricots, peaches, nectarines and plums, it controls planting, processing and logistics guaranteeing integrity, health and high quality.

"The products have a EurepGap certification as well as excellent quality and taste. They are looked after so consumers know that they are buying a safe, good, healthy product that respects the environment. The varieties we select guarantee a continuous high-quality supply throughout the season. In the case of peaches and nectarines, for example, we supply produce from mid-June to the beginning of September."

"Only the fruit that complies with the organoleptic qualities such as brix level and firmness and has a good shelf-life becomes Solatia, la gran frutta di casa mia - which reminds people of the taste of fruit cultivated in their own plot or bought at their local greengrocer's."

Peaches and nectarines are also sold in covered 4 fruit packs.

"Strawberries are produced by our partners in Battipaglia, in the Salerno province, but are processed here in Emilia-Romagna, where we cultivate apricots, plums, peaches and nectarines directly. Our clients provide us with great feedback, especially for peaches and white nectarines, and we have also started working abroad as we export to Germany, Switzerland and Norway."

A short and controlled production chain for products with excellent organoleptic qualities guaranteed by Granfrutta Zani. With these premises, the objective is to widen the Winter fruit range.

Granfrutta Zani is part of Ortofrutta d'Italia, the communication campaign managed by Ferrara's Cso - Centro servizi ortofrutticolo to promote the knowledge and the consumption of seasonal Italian fruit and vegetables.
