Thanks to its collaboration with Force Sud, a producer organisation located in the South of France and also producing in Spain and Morocco, Bellaguarda PO is now receiving the first Charentais brodé melons harvested in the Marrakech area.
Jérom Jausseran (Force Sud) and Mostafa Ouahmani (owned of the Moroccan productive site) during the "open door" event on 12-13th March 2013.
The high-quality production, which has the GlobalGap certification, is cultivated on two sites with 70 hectares of melon crops and wide crop rotations. The two Moroccan companies are supplied with irrigation basins and state-of-the-art equipment and are monitored by Force Sud's technicians.
Above and below: melons at different stages of ripening.
The first melons come from big tunnels, subsequently, produce from small tunnels will be harvested (photo below). Transplants are scalar in order to avoid interruptions during the whole period.
