Carl Kühne KG opens factory in Turkey

Turkey is the centre of trade with the Middle East

Carl Kühne KG, Europe's largest gherkin, vinegar and salad dressing producer, is expanding to Turkey with a new vinegar factory. The complex is in Izmir and cost 8.5 million Turkish lira (around 3.6 million Euro).

Carl Kühne KG wants to make Turkey, where the company already possesses a factory, into the centre of trade in the Middle East and Central Asia. The 16,000 m2 factory, which was opened with celebration last week, will have a production capacity of 10,000 tonnes and be able to fill up to 16.8 million bottles. The production will focus mainly on vinegar and pomegranate syrup.

Zeki Pağda, general manager of Kühne KG in Turkey, said at the opening ceremony of the new factory that the company has now created the ideal circumstances to be able to effectively expand abroad. This will make Turkey the starting point for Carl Kühne KG's economic expansion.
