In support of Save our Soils

Netherlands: Nature & More introduces the Soilmate

According to data from the United Nations we lose thirty football fields of fertile farmland per minute because of intensive agriculture. FAO, UN and other players in the food sector set up a plan, 'Save our Soils', set up to do something about it. Nature & More works together with several European partners and retailers to bring the message to the public.

To further promote campaign a new product is introduced at Fruit Logistica in Berlin: the Soilmate. "With the Soilmate we support the action plan 'Save our Soils'. The Soilmate is a 10x500 gram container of tomatoes, compost and basil seeds. You can not only eat the tomatoes, but the package can also be used to become a ‘guerrilla farmer’," explains Volkert Engelsman, founder of Nature & More and initiator of the Save Our Soils campaign.

According to Volkert, three slogans will accompany the new product: 'The Soil is the limit', 'Organic is the soilution' en 'Become a soildier'. " We also invite consumers to make a youtube video of the creation of their own guerrilla garden. The more original your video is, the more likely you are to win a five-day trip to Egypt. There you can see how the desert can be green again."

At Fruit Logistica and BioFach, the leading European trade fairs for the fresh produce and the organic sector, two more innovations are introduced: a new product for healthy snacks on the go (Bio & Go) and a new product line in fresh juices.

Bio & Go

Building on the success of the Bio Gio children's line, Eosta now introduces Bio & Go for adults: a range of products for people at work or at home wanting to eat a healthy snack. Sweet tomatoes, blueberries, carrots, grapes and dates will be presented in an attractive shaker.

Practical information

Eosta can be found at Fruit Logistica in Berlin from 6 to 8 February in Hall 3.2, Booth D-06. At the BioFach in Nuremberg, from February 13 to 16, Eosta is present in Hall 7, stand 619.
