EU: Zenatek provides tracking in real time

Knowing the exact location and state of produce shipments can go a long way toward reducing shrinkage along the cold chain. Zenatek is composed by 3 companies, in Monaco, New York and Italy, with dealers and agents all over the world. In particular, the ZTS is provided by the company based in the Principality of Monaco.

Zenatek's main core activity is managing anytime, anywhere and in real time the tracking of your shipments, particularly monitoring their temperature which is of extreme importance for fresh products, and of any hazards which all goods are exposed to during transportation, from warehouse of origin to warehouse of destination.

“The Zenatek Tracking System (ZTS) monitors goods while in transit anywhere around the world,” said Capt. Andrea Gregori, Zenatek Project Manager. “It provides real-time information on the exact location of the shipment at any time, as well as alerting you in the event of any tampering or temperature variances.” The system is able to send live updates about shipments via an internet connection, so users can monitor goods through any device that can get online. In addition to providing easy access, the system gathers its information via simple container tracking devices (CTD) which are low-maintenance, easy to use . And without diverse involvements.

“The CTD is a one-way, throwaway unit,” explained Gregori “It does not need to be retrieved at destination, as all the information on the trip has been traced and is already in the system.” The disposable nature of the CTD makes the system easy to use, and the low-cost nature of the unit increases the return on investment. But the main benefit of the system is that the information it provides is consistently up-to-date, and Zenatek believes that's what makes it better than other cost-effective tracking systems.

“Other websites offer the possibility of entering the vessel name that your container is being sent on and will give you information on the 10 next ports of call,” she said. “But that information is after the fact, and none of it tells you about possible tampering of your goods.” On the other hand, ZTS can provide alerts whenever shipments move outside expected zones or when they are handled in an incorrect manner, and that information is extremely valuable.

“Real-time information gives users control of the situation,” said Gregori “It gives them the possibility of effective and prompt reaction for damage control, and in the case of produce and other perishable items, that's extremely convenient.”
