"Netherlands: "Large supply at the moment, good export of cauliflower"
As of last week, cauliflower sales are going quite well, according to Jan Kors of the growers association called the White Pearl Group. "There is quite a lot of supply, but also a good export. There is a shortage of cauliflower, especially in Germany." The five members of White Pearl Group supply their cauliflower to wholesaler and commission trader Etienne Ruigewaard, who also takes care of storage and handling.
The price level of the 'sixes' is currently around 80 cent. Next week there will be less cauliflower coming from the land, according to Kors, and therefore he has good hopes that prices will at least stabilize. The cauliflower season has been quite uneventful up until now, but fortunately the market is on the mend again. Thankfully, the quality of the cauliflower is good."
